NEW SURFACES AT RILEYSTREET

WINSOR & NEWTON CLASSIC CANVAS

The Winsor & Newton Classic Canvas line is a new economy canvas option that delivers reliable quality and professional performance at an accessible price point. This thoughtfully designed range features stretched 7oz unprimed and 12.34oz primed cotton canvases, ideal for artists seeking consistency and durability in everyday studio work.
Each canvas is hand-stretched and acid-free for archival longevity, then primed with a highly pigmented titanium dioxide gesso that provides excellent coverage, balanced absorbency, and a responsive tooth. This carefully prepared surface improves paint adhesion and enhances the feel of every brushstroke, making it suitable for a wide range of painting techniques and mediums.
The frames are professionally constructed using kiln-dried solid fir and Paulownia wood, with stretcher bars rigorously tested for warp resistance. Canvases are back-stapled with neatly folded, uncut corners, allowing artwork to wrap cleanly around all four edges for a polished, gallery-ready finish. The Classic Canvas line is available in both a 3/4" studio profile and a 1-3/8" deep edge profile to suit different presentation needs.

AMPERSAND WOODPANEL

Ampersand Studio Birch WoodPanels offer a versatile, value-priced surface designed for a wide range of creative applications. These panels are especially well suited for fluid art, acrylic painting, collage, photo transfer, craft projects, and wood burning, and they can also be used for oil painting when properly prepared and primed.
Durable and affordable, Ampersand Wood Panels are an excellent choice for painting parties, paint-and-sip events, classroom use, and creative nights with friends and family—without sacrificing quality or performance.
Unlike lower-quality panels that may warp or split over time, these studio birch panels are proudly made in the USA and feature sturdy, handcrafted cradles paired with a smooth, stable birch surface. The result is a dependable, professional-feeling panel that supports experimentation as well as finished work.

We hope you enjoy these surfaces as much as we excited about them!
