Splatter, layer, tear, rearrange, smear, etc. and then structure it. Work intuitively with acrylic paint on paper. This class is about discovering the process of creation by employing unconventional techniques. Working with acrylic paint on paper, we will splatter, tear, rearrange, turn upside down, layer, work without stopping and so on, to create a ferment from which to divine your deepest thoughts, wishes, and needs and transform them into art.
Hilary will help you listen to yourself, take risks and free yourself from the critic while, simultaneously, teach you the formalities of art making, (such as color mixing and, shape color relationships) and help you understand the fundamentals of perception.
This class is open to both experienced and novice artists. Hilary will help new artists discover their creativity, get over their fears, and teach them fundamentals, and assist experienced artists to go into a deeper exploration of their abstraction, or to bring another layer of excitement their figuration. Have you have ever sat down at a white canvas, or plain piece of paper, and wondered what you were going to paint, or draw? Then this class is for you.
