How do we combine techniques of drawing what we see with the wish to express things important to us?
This class will bring together the skill of drawing and the personal curiosity and authenticity we need to make
We will begin with simple and easy warm up exercises that encourage visual drawings - what we see instead
of what we think. It’s always good to begin with one’s eyes instead one’s brain. We’ll build to skill based
drawings as we make prolonged studies. Each participant will be asked to focus most on what is important to
them in the drawing - perhaps a few of the objects are most compelling, or the texture, or the darks in relation to
the lights. Or perhaps a personal inquiry is most interesting. The important thing here is that we work both in
skill building and our own curiosity.
Anyone wanting to paint will need to bring painting supplies.
