Cindy will take you through the process of making monoprints using small plexiglass plates and a pin press. This type of printmaking is very simple, and unlike other printmaking processes, it can be very painterly and immediate with surprising results.
Using brushes, stencils and a variety of drawing tools, Cindy will ink a plexiglass plate, then use the pin press to ‘pull’ a print. A second print (called a 'ghost' print) can also be made using the magical Akua ‘release agent’. If time allows people will have a chance to try their hand at making a print.
This demo will be followed by an introductory class offered later the same day (2 - 5) for those who wish to explore this medium further. Contact Cindy directly to sign up for the class.
